From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
